Volunteering with Hands On

Hands On offers a variety of projects and programs that you can
participate in. If you are interested in volunteering with us, you can
sign up for a specific project. Follow these easy steps to volunteer:

1. Create an account for yourself.
a. Click the My Account tab on the menu bar at the top of the homepage.
b. Click "Create new account"
c. Fill in the necessary information.
d. After you have submitted your information, you should receive an email with further instructions.
e. Follow the instructions in the email to create your password and complete the registration process.
f. You are now ready to sign up for a specific volunteer project.

If you do not receive a instructional email, double check that you have entered the correct email address.

2. If you already have an account, please Log In.
Volunteers must be logged in to sign up for volunteer projects.

3.Join in Orientation part first.
Orientations will be held once or twice a month and be updated on our web-“calendar”, please sign up for it before signning up for other volunteer events.

4. Pick a volunteer project and sign up!
a. Go to our “calendar” to see upcoming projects
b. Click on the specific project of your choice.
c. Fill in the necessary information to sign up.

You are all done! We will send you a confirmation email and a reminder email shortly after.

Notice for you!

1. Sign up early! Space is limited at each of our volunteer sessions.
a. Registration closes by Thursday morning for all weekend volunteer projects.
b. If you would like to bring a friend to the session, please ask them to create an account and sign up themselves.
c. If the session is full, please volunteer with your friend at the next opportunity.
d. If you are unable to sign up for an event due to internet difficulties, please contact the Hands On office via email or phone.

2. Confirmation:
a. After you have signed up, you should immediately receive an email confirmation of your registration. This email will detail directions to the volunteer site or meeting point, specify volunteer activities, and give any other pertinent information you’ll need to know.
b. Your confirmation email should list the mobile number of the project coordinator for your volunteer session. If you have any other problems or questions, contact your project coordinator for help.

3. Cancellations:
a. If you need to cancel you registration, you can do so online before the registration deadline.
b. If you are unable to attend the volunteer session and did not cancel your registration in time, please notify the project coordinator and inform him/her as soon as possible.

4. Reminder:
You will receive our reminder letter 1-2days before the event.

5. Invalid signup:
a. New volunteers should read this guidance carefully and join in the orientation section before signing up for other events or the signups will be canceled.
b. If you always cancel your signup until the coordinator contact you or always being late for the events, your ID will be bad recorded and your new signups will not be accepted later.
Although volunteering is not paid, we also want volunteers treat it seriously to show your respect to the beneficiaries and other volunteers.
It is an important info that will confirm onsite team leader contact, meeting location, meeting time etc.
